Born on January 11, 1929 in Alžbětín. He completed his studies of Art in Prague and Bratislava between 1948 and 1955. After graduation he settled in Český Krumlov. His paintings of poetic civilization were presented as his debut (Brno, Praha, between 1958 - 1960). The Prague exhibition in 1964 is considered to be his turning point when he painted the mystery of Šumava. Over the course of the following years he worked at applied art in architecture. He exhibited in Prague in 1970, 1979, 1984, 1990, and in 1991 in Linz, in 1992 in the Asbach Museum (Bavaria). The art-history review classifies his work performance as part of the Czech Painting context of the second half of the 20th century with the characteristic fantasy presented in mythology of nature. His masterpieces are part of the National Gallery in Prague and Aleš Gallery of South Bohemia in Hluboká nad Vltavou. He has received the Award of Art from the South Bohemian Regional National Administration Authority in 1986, the first prize for Painting in 1989, first prize for Graphics in1990.
