The restaurant is located about 100 meters from the upper end of the town square and is notorious among tourists for its kitchen. The building comes from the 15th century, and the restaurant's name (Jan the Scribe) comes from one of its former owners. In the restaurant are 50 seats; the front part with windows facing the street serves as a cafe, while the salon in the back with 24 seats can be used as a dining hall, for weddings, evening parties, and other events. In the summer the terrace is open with a romantic view onto the castle and the oldest part of the historic town. The kitchen offers a selection of world cuisine, a rich choice of grilled and fish specialties, and vegetarian food. We speak German, English, and Russian. Qualified town tour guides arranged.
