Alfred Kubin (1877 - 1959)
This retrospective exhibition provides an insight into Kubin's relationship to Bohemia,
presents him as a writer and book illustrator and shows seldom or never displayed works
from private collections.
Karel Hlaváček (1874 - 1898)
Karel Hlaváček is mainly known to a wider public as a poet from the period of Symbolism
and Decadence. The exhibition in the Egon
Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov presents visual and graphic works by the artist which
are on loan from the Museum of National Literature in Prague.
Běla Kolářová (b. 1923)
Since the 1960s she has ranked amongst the most significant figures on the Czech visual and
graphic arts and photographic scenes.
The exhibition in the Egon Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov will be her most extensive
retrospective exhibition to date in honour of her 80th birthday.
In cooperation with Arbor Vitae publishers we are preparing an extensive tri-lingual catalogue
with a text by Professor Josef Hlaváček.
Stanislav Kolíbal (b. 1925)
Stanislav Kolíbal has ranked amongst the most distinguished members of the Czech art scene
since the 1950s; this exhibition prepared in the Egon
Schiele Art Center in Český Krumlov will be a representative cross-section of his creative
work with special emphasis on the latest as yet unexhibited work. The accompanying publication
is based on a principle that has been unknown in this country till now. The author will comment
on his work himself. This manner of interpretation breaks down the borders between the artist and
his public thus enabling the viewer to enter the artist's world and get acquainted with his sources
of inspiration and the hidden meaning of his individual works. The accompanying publication with more
than 300 reproductions and 300 pages in length will be tri-lingual.
